Default Prophecies Build Help

I'm a Necro/Ele looking for a good build for pug's late game in prophecies. Recently, I have used:
[build=OABDQsRnCSCZbZW5YIOA]
I like it, but I want to know 2 things.
First, is the build any good? It works fine for me, but I have nothing to compare it to. I would be happy to hear suggestions.
Second, can someone show me another good build that I can use? Please remember, this is for pug's using only prophecy's skills, and I can not yet change my secondary.

Thank you!

ps - The [[signet of capture] is not necessary. I just threw it in there in case I found something good.

Highly recommend putting some minion skills on your bar.

[Animate Bone Horror]
[Animate Bone Minions]
[Barbs]
[Mark of Pain]
[Death Nova] This skill is usually hard for a human to manage, good luck.
[Enfeebling Blood]
[Rend Enchantments]
[Spiteful Spirit] If you don't have it yet then go get it. One of the best Necro skills in the game.

Change the skills depending on area, this bar would suck in an area with lots of undead. Do not carry that Sig of Capture unless you know you will be using it, otherwise it is just taking up a useful slot. Check wiki to see what skills are available in the area you will be headed, before you go there. MM necros are great, and when you get some of the other campaigns, and get better skills then you will probably stop playing as a MM and start pumping out some nice damage with a hero team.[discord]

reckless haste is not proph-only. neither is discord for that matter.

I would go with something like this:

[aura of the lich][animate bone fiend][blood of the master][death nova][mark of pain][barbs][glyph of lesser energy][resurrection signet]

you'll find that there are very few necro elites available in proph that are worth running. if controlling an army is not your thing, try an echo-ss build (once you are able to switch to /mes)

Thanks for pointing out the obvious. Did you read the entire sentence?

He said that once he got other campaigns to go capture and utilize discord.

Smile a tip or two...

Well, I’ll try to answer your questions and help you out.

Q1 – Well, it’s not a bad build. I have seen much much worse. But no one will ever ask you to run it.

Q2 – In looking at your build you seem to have a pretty good understanding of what a good build should look like, but just lack the experience to tweak it in. Well if you look a little on PVX I’m sure with in 10 minutes you will come up with a build or two on your own. I have played a necro in the same spot your in, I won’t give you an entire build but I’ll get you most of the way there by giving you a few basic skills to act as your core.

In your spot ppl will ask for one of three builds. An MM, an SS or a Battery.

MM=minion master
Animate bone fiend and/or bone horror
Blood of the Master
Aura of the Lich

SS = Spiteful Spirit
Enfeebling Blood
Weaken Armor

Battery = in the current Meta this means a 1HP BiP spammer, but since imo it is a very specialized build for elite areas, I’ll give something different that’s super easy old school.
Well of Power
Blood Ritual
Well of Blood
(Ya, he could go old school BiP, but that would be another whole post)

I just want to stop here an say that most any “build” will work in 90%+ of NM PvE so don’t be overly concerned with every little thing someone comments on how it could be better. Because the truth is someone will always find fault, even if there isn’t one. That being said, I posted this to help FlameOf Faith, not to incite useless comments from the gallery.

Ok one last tip, without question one of the necro’s greatest strength in PVE is their built in energy management. And you’re not really using it, I honestly can see how you may have over looked Soul Reaping because prophesies doesn’t give you access to the cool skills in it. But if you put Soul Reaping at 8+1 or higher, you should really never need OoB or GoLe. This allows you free up a slot or two for utility skills and still have an effectively focused build.

Wow, so many replies! Thank you all for the advice! I have made this build to take advantage of [[glyph of renewal].
[build=OAZDUqpXCIvcZWanW4VF]
I use it with [mark of pain], [verata's sacrifice], and occasionally [animate bone minions]. Or at least, that's the idea. I have not tested it yet, and I wouldn't be surprised if everyone convinces me to scrap the build. Anyways, I have two more questions.
First, why did nobody suggest [[animate bone minions]? I use it because it makes a lot quickly (good for impatient pug's) and, especially recently, there aren't always exploitable corpses. Is the level difference really important?
Second, why do so many builds have 2 minion spells? Is 5 seconds too long to wait?

first of all your build, while not entirely bad, is still rather sub par. first of all Necros have some awsome elites, even just in prophecies, [aura of the lich] and [spiteful spirit] come to mind, but you can also find other prophecy elites to be of some use. second of all [animate bone minions] is only good if you're using a minion bomber build, not a minion master, as they're cheap, weak and come en masse, so they're very efficient for that role. otherwise [animate bone fiend] and [animate bone horror] are better for standard minion masters. [animate vampiric horror] is better but that's Nightfall so you're stuck with the other. also, there's no reason to use [verata's sacrifice] nowadays, before its massive nerf like years ago it was a must have skill for minion masters, nowadays it's just useless. and you're wasting an elite skill to make this unusable skill into a somewhat usable but still crappy skill, especially when you're trying to be a minion master with just bone minions...

so my advise to you, stick to either the Death line, for a minion master, or the Curse line for anything else. Blood line is just terrible, forget about it, and Soul Reaping is a nice support line but doesn't have enough skills to get a build based uppon it. also use a Necro elite, as you have some pretty nice elites for it, even with only prophecies.

First and foremost capture [Spiteful Spirit], it rarely gets boring.
Here are some great skills you can run. They're for the Curses attribute.
[Spiteful Spirit]-Just great for damage
[Barbs]-Support your physical characters
[Mark of Pain]-Nuke'em.
[Rigor Mortis]-Finish off those pesky rangers
There are many many more.

There's been some good suggestions posted for you so far. I'll add a couple thoughts:

1. [Aura of the Lich] + [Mark of Pain] and/or [barbs]. They recently buffed [aura of the lich]. If you are going to run minions in proph, you REALLY want that elite.
2. If you run a build with any minions, save a spot for [dark bond]. You won't find a cheaper, more effective skill for keeping yourself alive as an MM. You don't even need more than a few points in blood magic to make it good.
3. [spiteful spirit]+[arcane echo] is the foundation of many curse necro builds.
4. A combination to think about is grabbing conditions and giving them to the enemies. As an example: [draw conditions] + [plague sending]. There are other skills to use to do it, but you get the idea.
5. An alternative to number 4 is to grab conditions and deflect them to your minion, (ie [draw conditions]+[infuse condition].
6. One last thought about minion masters... Keeping them alive is highly over-rated, especially if you are using [Aura of the Lich]. It's ok to use minion healing skills, but in most places you can create them faster than they will die, so that skill slot might be better used for another skill depending on your strategy.
